It looks like a mushroom family with spores inside but I've never seen one with an open top. Grows right in the sand on the south coast of Little Cayman. What is it?

It looks like a mushroom family with spores inside but I've never seen one with an open top. Grows right in the sand on the south coast of Little Cayman. What is it?
